Experimental Typography
Experimental typography is essentially a photo dump of all my favourite tests of different styles. Most are mainly from participating in #36daysoftype, however in doing so, it's pushed forward other projects in unique ways. I find that experimenting forces you out of your comfort zone, so I felt it was important to document this.
The images show: type and pattern, physical techniques (such as paper collage, photographing items etc), purely digital type and hand lettered type.
These images are experimentations of creating hand lettered typography. They're a mixture of taking existing fonts and tracing around them to create a unique font, and creating lettering from scratching (such as the LOVE painting).
I started experimenting with hand lettered type as I was craving creating with my hands and being away from the screen. Although I'll go back to digital to experiment with other colours schemes, I love the individuality you get from using your own hands.
